6 Dec 2012
Hindustan Times (Delhi)

Delhi Public School, RK Puram, organises student exchange programmes with schools in many countries. These exchanges enable the students to broaden their horizons, improve their language skills and become global citizens with a better understanding and tolerance of other cultures. The third exchange programme between Delhi Public School, RK Puram, and Lycée St Ambroise, Chambéry, France, was held for a week recently. The group consisted of 21 French students accompanied by three teachers: Pierre Guillot, Nadine RouxMichollet and Albertine Michel. The guests stayed with Indian families and they spent more than a week discovering Indian food, family life and various other aspects of Indian culture. During the course of the week, the French delegates had a friendly football match with their Indian counterparts. They attended classes in school and also visited several places in Delhi such as Lotus Temple, ISKCON Temple, Red Fort, Humayun’s Tomb, Gandhi Smriti, etc. A cultural evening was organised on the eve of their departure during which the French and Indian students put up various cultural items to showcase the cultures of their respective countries. Later, the students also shared their experiences. The French delegates visited Agra and Jaipur before returning to France.
